Spanish
Our program uses the language as the vehicle for learning and communication, and students will develop their competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The language is presented within the context of exchanging information & learning about cultural practices, products, and perspectives of the past and present. Students will develop communicative and cultural competence through interactive lessons, leveled readings, class discussions, and shared writing. We aim to incorporate high frequency words using proficiency based language projects, with music and media as our muse. No prior experience with the language is required, but an open mind and a willingness to engage in interactive tasks is essential. Our ultimate goal is to assist students in developing their proficiency at the intermediate level, entering Spanish II their freshman year of high school.
