Field study tour (fst)

Field Study Tour (FST) is an experiential educational trip, preferably combined with service learning, of approximately one week that traditionally takes place in the spring semester. It is one of the most rewarding experiences that students will have at Headwaters Academy.   Students take part in local, regional, and international trips designed to provide an immersion learning experience.  While on the trip, students use the experience to research a specific topic in preparation for a public "presentation of learning" upon return.  International travel is limited to the eighth grade and has included trips to Ecuador and Mexico.  Sixth and seventh grade students have taken part in FST trips to Butte, Montana, Yellowstone National Park, and Grand Teton National Park.
