6th Grade Art
This course is an introduction to the fine arts. The objectives of this course are to acquaint students with the elements and principles of design, encourage experimentation with variety of art mediums, foster confidence through an emphasis on process rather than outcome, and increase student knowledge of art history, criticism, and aesthetics. Students will begin the school year with basic two-dimensional projects, allowing them to build a strong foundation, and end the year with three-dimensional projects, thus challenging their knowledge of the material. 6th Grade Art Gallery
7th Grade Art
This course is an introduction to the fine arts with an emphasis on self-exploration. The objectives of this course are to further acquaint students with the elements and principles of design, encourage advanced experimentation with a variety of art mediums, foster confidence through an emphasis on process, rather than outcome, and increase student knowledge of art history, criticism, and aesthetics. Students will review material from the sixth grade curriculum at the beginning of the year and progress to independent projects with a focus on personal interest. All students are required to keep a journal or sketchbook. 7th Grade Art Gallery
8th Grade Art
This course is an introduction to the fine arts with an emphasis on self-exploration. The
